Welcome to the Bare Bakers website (Bare Bakers is a brand of Riviana Foods Pty. Ltd.).

Riviana Foods Pty. Ltd., together with its associated entities and complementary businesses (collectively “Riviana”, “we” or “us”) respect the privacy of every individual who visits our website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to complying with the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth), as amended, (“Privacy Act”) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This Privacy Policy outlines how SunRice may collect your personal information and how we will use, record and protect that Personal Information.

Personal Information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

(a) whether the information or opinion is true or not; and,

(b) whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.

Sensitive Information includes:

(a) Personal Information about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, membership of a trade union, sexual orientation or practices and criminal record; and

(b) health information about an individual.

By providing your Personal Information or using our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you are providing information about any other person, then you confirm that in providing such information, you are authorised by that person to do so.

If you do not provide us with any or all of the Personal Information we may request from you from time to time, you may be unable to use our products or services and/or our website, register or enter our competitions or attend our events, and/or we may be unable to purchase a product or service from you or provide you with the information and/or services that you require from us. 

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, however, we will notify you about any changes in such manner as we consider reasonably appropriate, including by posting an updated statement on our website.  This Privacy Policy was last updated on 7 November 2023.

Types of Personal Information We Collect

The kinds of Personal Information typically collected by Riviana include names, job titles and contact details of individuals and, in the case of applicants for employment, qualifications, work experience, competencies and relevant health information.

Riviana will only collect Sensitive Information if the relevant individual whom that individual is about consents to the collection of that information or if that collection is required by law in specific circumstances, including but not limited to matters of individual or public health or safety.

Collection of Personal Information

We collect Personal Information from you directly, including in the following ways:

(a) when we purchase a product or service from you;

(b) when we supply one of our products or services to you, including when you provide your Personal Information to any of our employees or other personnel that assist us with the delivery of our products or services, or any service providers we may engage to assist us with the provision of products and/or services to you or our operations generally;

(c) when you enter or register for a  Riviana organised or sponsored competition;

(d) when you register to attend a Riviana sponsored or organised event;

(e) when you complete  one of our surveys or questionnaires; and

(f) when you submit a request or query to us face-to face, in writing (e.g. letter, email or fax) or by voice call.

We may also collect Personal Information from a variety of other sources such as:

(a) advertisers, mailing lists, recruitment agencies, government departments and agencies, contractors and business partners;

(b) third parties acting on your authority or who you authorise us to make contact with you;

(c) through your use of our website and the services and functionality offered through it; and

(d) publicly available sources. 

We hold Personal Information in documentary and/or electronic form under generally accepted standards of technological and operational security that are consistent with the requirements of the Privacy Act.

Purpose and Disclosure of Personal Information

The purposes for which we collect, hold, use, process and disclose Personal Information include, but are not limited to:

(a) contacting you to provide you with the information you have requested us to provide to you; and to better understand your needs and how we can improve our products and services;

(b) screening and assessing applicants for employment;

(c) making contact with individuals and organisations that Riviana deals with or wants to deal with;

(d) processing credit applications of and marketing, promoting and providing products and services;

(e) selecting and doing business with suppliers, growers and other industry participants;

(f) facilitating our interactions and business dealings with industry bodies; and

(g) appointing and doing business with contractors.

We may from time to time collect, hold, use, process and disclose Personal Information for additional purposes but we will give you prior notice of the additional purposes before we use your Personal Information for them.

Personal Information that we collect may be disclosed to our agents, contractors or third party service providers (who provide administrative, telecommunications, computer or other services to us) to the extent necessary to carry out any of the purposes for which we may use your Personal Information (as outlined above), including our:

(a)       website, IT systems or services providers; and

(b)       data management, processing and storage service providers.  

The third parties listed above whom we may share your Personal Information with are under duties to Riviana to keep such information confidential and secure.

 Riviana may also, in the course of its business, be required to disclose Personal Information to its related companies, service providers, government departments and agencies, contractors and/or consultants in Australia in order for Riviana to:

 (a) provide individuals with the services, information or products requested; and

 (b) to enable individuals to receive goods or services from Riviana.

We may also provide third parties with aggregate, de-identified information about visitors to or users of our website.

We do not now and do not intend to sell, rent or market Personal Information about you to third parties.

Information Placed Automatically on Your Computer – Cookies

When you view our website, we may store some information on your computer. This information will be in the form of a “Cookie” or similar file and can help us in many ways. For example, Cookies allow us to tailor a website to better match your interests and preferences. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure the security of any information that you transmit to us (e.g. over the internet) and you do so at your own risk. However, we take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the Personal Information we hold from misuse, interference and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

From time to time we may disclose Personal Information to our related entities, third party contractors and service providers which are located overseas or may perform certain services overseas. For instance, a third party contractor may utilise a server hosted overseas as a method to send emails to you that you have opted to receive. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that all Personal Information is handled in a manner that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, preferably as part of the services contract.

 

Your access to your Personal Information

Generally speaking, you may access and update your Personal Information at any time. If you wish to do so, please contact us.

Riviana will always try to maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date Personal Information. If you think that your Personal Information retained by Riviana may require changing or updating, you can ask for your Personal Information to be corrected at any time, by contacting us at privacy@sunrice.com.au. We will then take all reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If we do not make an amendment that you have sought, you can request that we attach to the information where reasonably practical, a statement of correction you have sought that you have provided to us.

Complaints

If you have a complaint regarding the way in which your Personal Information is being handled by us, please contact us in the first instance at privacy@sunrice.com.au. If we are unable to reach a satisfactory solution through negotiation, you may wish to request an independent person to investigate the complaint such as the Privacy Commissioner.
